Recent studies show that sleep apnea in women is different from sleep apnea in men.  

Generally, women take longer to fall asleep and have greater flow limitations with increased breaks in sleeping patterns compared to male subjects.  Based on this research, a gender-specific therapy is needed to repond to female-specific characterisitics of sleep-disordered breathing.

 The ResMed AirSense™ 10 AutoSet™ for Her utilizes a new algorithm designed with increased sensitivity to limited airflow events and creating the optimal response to these events.

FEATURES:

AutoSet™ Algorithm - ResMed's advanced algorithm has a reputation of providing an effective therapy on a breath by breath basis while responding to changes in air flow.  The pressure provided by the machine will be increased or decreased as determined by the AutoSet Algorithm raising the comfort level of your sleep apnea therapy.  This feature benefits active sleepers who often alter positions during sleep.   Furthermore the Resmed AirSense™ 10 Auto will detect apneas, flow limitations, and hypopneas with an accurate response of smooth flow pressure.  Note that the AutoSet mode can be changed to a single pressure based on the patient's preference.

AutoRamp - The ResMed AutoRamp™ feature is included in this device where a lower air pressure is delivered to the patient during the time it takes for them to fall asleep.  Once the user is asleep and requires a higher air pressure, the machine gradually increases the flow of air to meet the prescribed level.

HumidAir™ Humidification - The HumidAir™ humidifier is built into the AirSense™ 10 and can be easily adjusted to different setting levels.  The optional ClimateLineAir™ Heated Tube will optimize humidification with the machine accounting for the room temperature and providing the best humidification level for the lowest rainout condensation.

SmartStart™ - The SmartStart™ function begins your sleep apnea therapy as soon as you breathe into the mask and will also stop automatically when the mask is removed.

EPR Mode - This device utilizes the ResMed Expiratory Pressure Relief (EPR™) feature allowing for steady therapy pressure transitions that will not disrupt the patient.  This feature makes breathing with a CPAP device feel natural by appropriately adjusting the amount of pressure delivered during respiration.

Easy-breathe motor - The motor emits 26dBA of noise which will create a calm sleeping environment for the PAP user.

User-friendly controls, comprehensive interface, and color LCD screen make it simple to navigate menus and customize settings.

FAA requirements - This ResMed device meets the FAA requirements for all phases of air travel.

myAir™ - Use ResMed's myAir™ to track and receive guidance on your sleep apnea therapy progress.  This online program offers coaching and motivational tools to help engage patients in their therapy.

AirView™ - This is a cloud-based patient management system that comes with the AirSense™ 10 AutoSet™ that allows healthcare professionals to monitor patients progress, troubleshoot problems, and remotely adjust settings.
